​​​Our team member, Dr. Liang Dong, participated in the TS14 Mariana Trench Deep-dive Cruise organized by the Institute of Deep-Sea Science and Engineering, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, from September 15th to November 3rd, 2019. The maximum dive depth was 3208 meters, and the average underwater working time of each dive was more than 8 hours and obtained valuable samples of seabed rocks, macro-organisms, sediments, and first-hand marine video data. Dr. Liang Dong also participated in the sampling of the gravity and box cores at the Mariana Trench Challenger deep and obtained precious sediment samples at the deepest point of the earth at 10927m. The voyage achieved the set sampling mission and provided worthy samples for the abyss and deep-sea research.
