Open Call to Vote on 2024 IC-DLI “Deep Life Paper” and nomination of “SiYuan-Ocean Emerging Leaders”

“Deep Life Paper” and “SiYuan-Ocean Emerging Leaders” Awards were established in 2021 by International Center for Deep Life Investigation (IC-DLI), which is the international platform for communication and collaboration in deep life research.

The purpose of the awards is to recognize significant scholarly contributions and outstanding early career researchers in order to encourage further contributions into deep life research and foster the next generation of researchers in this field. IC-DLI selects five “Deep Life Paper” and two “SiYuan-Ocean Emerging Leaders” annually.

In the past four years, IC-DLI has produced nineteen “Deep Life Papers” and eight young researchers as “SiYuan-Ocean Emerging Leaders” (For more information of past winners, please visit: https://icdli.sjtu.edu.cn/Data/List/Webinar). All winners were invited to give impressive talks in IC-DLI webinars series and the series have attracted thousands of researchers worldwide. IC-DLI is expecting more researchers who have passion and interest in deep life research to join us, participate in award nomination, selection and webinar series followed.

Here we are calling to vote on 2024 IC-DLI “Deep Life Paper” and nomination of 2024“SiYuan-Ocean Emerging Leaders”.

2024 IC-DLI “Deep Life Paper” Vote

We are having a nomination list with 83 papers currently. All papers were published within the period of January 1st, 2024 to December 31th, 2024, and contributed important results or break-through discoveries to deep life investigation.

IC-DLI would like to invite you to recommend 3- 5 best papers from the nominated list as 2024 "Deep Life Paper", which can represent the most important findings and contributions in the deep life field in 2024. 2024 “SiYuan-Ocean Emerging Leaders” nomination

Candidates of "Siyuan-Ocean Emerging Leaders" should be early career researchers within eight years of PhD, who exhibit distinguished performance and outstanding potential as leaders of the deep life community.

Please provide the name, affiliation of candidate and brief reason for recommendation to Dr. Manping Zhang by email: icdli-mailing@sjtu.edu.cn. Please indicate recommendation for 2024 "Siyuan-Ocean Emerging Leaders" in the email.

“Deep Life Paper” and “SiYuan-Ocean Emerging Leaders” Selection

After voting, the IC-DLI Awards Committee will select recipients of “Deep Life Paper” based on the shortlist based on vote and “SiYuan-Ocean Emerging Leaders” based on the candidate list. 

The IC-DLI Awards Committee will produce five “Deep Life Paper” and two “SiYuan-Ocean Emerging Leaders”. For “SiYuan-Ocean Emerging Leaders”, ideally one nominee in marine deep life and another in terrestrial deep life will be selected.

Deadline of voting and nomination: March 9, 2025 at 11:59pm (Beijing Time).
